• Visualizing Air Pollution

JUST Capital, utilizing data from the EPA, has created this Air Pollution Attribution Data Visualization, as part of its Environmental Explorer, where you can explore air pollution emission reductions by state, by industry, by company, and by facility between 2011 and 2014 for two key pollutants*:

  • Particulate Matter 2.5 (PM2.5)

PM2.5 are microscopic solids or liquid droplets (2.5 micrometers and smaller) that can enter the lungs and even the bloodstream, causing serious health problems.

    Emitting Facilities

    Non-Emitting Facilities

    Change in Statewide PM2.5 Emissions
    2011 to 2014

  • CO2

CO2 is the largest and most common contributor to GHG emissions and therefore, climate change, which enters the atmosphere primarily through burning fossil fuels.

    Emitting Facilities

    Non-Emitting Facilities

    Change in Statewide CO2 Emissions
    2011 to 2014

  • *Note: All data represents only stationary facilities, and does not incorporate the effects of emissions from transportation – like trucks, planes, or ships – or commercial and residential buildings. Nearly 9,000 facilities from 279 companies in the Russell 1000 are represented.
